George celebrates his 60th birthday with fellow horse lover friends at a ranch in the beautiful piney woods of East Texas on 3/14/09. The cake commemorated the things that were most dear to him throughout his life, including his family, his church, his youth center, the American flag, and even 'the grill'! Huey played "Happy Birthday" on the harmonica while Dwayne's booming voice took charge of the ceremony. Since we trail rode all morning in the cold, misty weather, the horses were a bit tired after lunch, but as you can see, many of them still poured on the coals. I was riding my two horses while much of the racing was going on, and both were so high spirited that they didn't cooperate when I tried to video, so these videos were only after I dismounted and focused on capturing the fun. I have a large room to host the party in, and the girls are all 6 year olds, some are girl scouts. Craft activities are helpful as well, everything needs to stick with the horse and foal theme. The party is two hours long and last part of party will be parachute games. Thanks for any help you may have.

In a month my son will be turning 3! How exciting! Anyways... we have decided to have a cowboy themed party. I was just wondering if anyone had any good ideas for decor, games, goodie bags, etc. (We have a big BBQ with the bday party) My mind is full of ideas but just wondering if there was anything I hadn't thought of!
Things I have already purchased: Black and white cow print balloons and table cloth, red balloons, red plates, napkins, and silverware.
Plus, I will be making him a cowboy hat cake.
have daddy dress up as the local bandit and have each child (they should all be dressed with a sherriff's badge) take a pic with him (arresting him).
Have the bday boy make a grand entrance on either a real horse or a wagon pulled by you. Wagon can be dressed up with straw. Play the Bonanza theme as he makes his entrance.
Do wanted posters as invites. Have bandanas,hats and badges ready for each child as they arrive.
Do a toy or candy hunt throughout the backyard.
They're only 3, so they'll have a blast just chasing each other around and squirting their water guns, eating hotdogs, cake and candy!
