What birthday theme can i do for my daughter?

My son and daughter are having thier birthday parties the same day, my son turning 2 and my daughter 1. I wanted to know if anyone knew what kind of party i can set for both of them that would be good for boys and girls. I was thinking of Horses for my son but i dont know what theme would go well with it for a girl. i was thinking Unicorns, but i'm not very fond of them. Also i thought princess for the girl, but what can i possibly do for the boy with that?? I dont want the themes to clash and look wierd. NOTE: no Dora the Explorer.... please. Thanks!!! Hope ya'll can help out!!!

My cousin and I have kids whose birthday is only a few days apart. Just this past weekend we had a party for both of them. We did his in Spiderman and my daughter's as Disney Princess. We had to separate cakes and used two separate tables for her gifts and his, with matching decorations on for each table. The girls at the party got princess gift bags and the boys got the Spiderman. Even though it didn't exactly "match" it was a success b/c each child got their favorite character.
Your daughter is probably too young to have a favorite character, but you could decorate for your son with whatever his favorite character is (if he has one).
If you could find Shrek party stuff that may be good b/c that could go either way and it's popular.

Everyone should get a cowboy hat/bandana on arrival! Red and white checkered tablecloth, balloons tied to horseshoes....
If you have access to hay and saddles that would be good too. You can even saddle a bale of hay or saw horse so the kids could "ride" it. You can play games like pin the tail on the horse, horseshoes, bean bag toss into a cowboy hat, and have a water gun shoot out. Get a pinata that has a western theme, like a horse or cowboy hat.

I am having a horse-themed birthday party sleepover for my twelfth so I need some good horse movies. The girls at my party will all be either 12 or 11. I want some good horse movies!
